Bacon Cheddar Fries at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati

It's time for our annual baseball trip. I'm in our hotel room right now in downtown Cincinnati having just returned from watching the Cubs lose another pathetic game to the Reds. I don't have much to say about Cincinnati or the Great American Ballpark, although stopping here was an opportunity to see a good friend I haven't seen in a year. Whereas other ballparks we have gone to have featured a lot of regional food that represents what the city might be known for, Great American Ballpark seemed to have about 12 different varieties of hot dog stand. So, either I'm misinformed, or Cincinnati is known for hot dogs.

On our other trips I've enjoyed eating too much and pacing the game with food intervals. To be honest, there wasn't much of interest - I had a slice of acceptable pepperoni pizza, a plate of bacon cheddar fries, and soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone. Had more appealed to me I would have had more. The bacon cheddar fries were alright. It was a pretty generous mound of fries with bacon pieces, cheddar cheese sauce, and sour cream. The fries were fairly fresh, but could have used a lot more seasoning. The bacon portion was pretty generous and had good bacon flavor, but they were a little chewier than I'd have liked them to be. The cheddar cheese sauce tied everything together, but there needed to be more of it. And the sour cream....completely unnecessary.
